Switzerland, 1926. Helen Fox lives a quiet life at the American Library of Geneva, cataloguing books and tracing their past owners. Her routine is shattered when she receives a draft novel by a former lover - a soldier she nursed during the war. Though called fiction, she recognises herself and fears what it reveals about her past. As memories resurface, Helen is drawn back into a web of love, grief and betrayal, where stories blur truth, lies, and memory.
